Does Your Business Have a Reputation Marketing System in Place?

With millions of reviews written daily for single local businesses like chiropractors, restaurants, real estate agents, etc., across countless platforms, leveraging social conversations and influencing those conversations is no simple task.

For the most part, small businesses miss the mark on this by viewing online review sites as a problem to be managed, rather than a tremendous opportunity to showcase their business by soliciting positive reviews from satisfied customers. Consider this:

A one-star increase on Yelp leads to a 5% to 9% increase in revenue (source: Michael Luca, Harvard Business School).

70% of global consumers trust online reviews, an increase of 15 percent in four years (source: Nielsen).

7 in 10 who read reviews share them with friends, family & colleagues thus amplifying their impact (Deloitte & Touche)

I’m really loving the theme/design of your website. Do you ever run into any
web browser compatibility problems? A handful of my
blog readers have complained about my website not
working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Safari. Do you
have any tips to help fix this problem?

Hello this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually
code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted
to get advice from someone with experience.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I once had a client whose locally based business was being given negative reviews on Yelp! Most of what was being written didn’t feel true or even possible, and my client was really upset and confused. It turned out that one of her competitors was creating false profiles in Yelp! to write these false and very damning reviews. At least, in this case, she was able to find out the cause and deal with it. And, as you suggested, she had so many clients willing to write favorable reviews to counteract the damage. But sometimes, unless we’re tracking our reputations with Google Alerts or something like Stark County Connections, we don’t even know what’s being said and written about our businesses.Thank you for pointing out how important it is to track the word on the (virtual) street!
